Bird Park makes a great effort to get the birds to breed and strives to provide the birds with as natural a life as possible. E.g. most of our birds live in pairs or in flocks, and this means that every year hundreds of young ones are raised from egg to chicks.
We have so far succeeded in achieving two first in the world breeding achievements in the Bird Park. This achievement is classified as a first-time successful breeding of a species within captivity. We received these honours for the Yellow-rumped Tinkerbird (Pogoniulus bilineatus) and the Red-headed Bluebill (Spermophaga ruficapilla).
The Bird Park is also part of several international breeding programs. They include several species that are endangered and listed on the CITES list of endangered animals and plants, colloquially the CITES list.
The Bird park, has also received a few Danish first breeding achievements including the two world breeding achievements. Other examples are Blue-winged Kookaburra, Western Bluebill and the Lesser Vasa Parrot.
